pydance 0.7.4
pydance is a dancing game written in Python, formerly named pyDDR. The
idea is simple. There’s a floor mat with arrows, and the game scrolls
arrows up the screen to the beat while playing a song. When the arrows
reach the top of the screen (not sooner and not later), the player
hits the corresponding arrow on the pad, and given that it’s hit on
time with the beat, points are scored. Based on how well the dance is
put together, s/he is graded at the end of the song. Both keyboard and
mat play are supported.
Changes: Support for 6 panel, 8 panel, and double (one player on both pads) modes was added. Some lagging parts of the interface were optimized. Psyco support was added, and many small bugs were fixed, especially in the DWI and SM file parsers.

Changes: The game is now called pydance instead of pyDDR. New lifebar modes
are in, such as "drop" and "suck", and parser bugs have been fixed.
Song "folders" have been implemented, which requires more than 60
songs in the selector to take effect. A few modes have been filled
in: boost, brake, left, right, mirror, shuffle, and random
("supershuffle").

Changes: There is now support for COUPLE and battle mode (native support is fine, using the converter is still buggy). Start can now be held for the player options screen, or select for the game options screen. A "Ready? Go!" screen appears before the song starts. A new "oldschool" theme similar to earlier mixes was dropped in.
