ALT Linux is a set of Linux distributions that are
based on Sisyphus, an APT-enabled RPM package
repository that aims to achieve feature
completeness, usability, and security in a
sensible and manageable mixture.

Changes: ALT Linux Compact is further development of the Junior branch towards
an OEM product which focuses on providing a consistent toolset for
common tasks while Junior maintains more versatility. This version adds
the latest hardware compatibility, improved usability (e.g., USB Flash
automounting), and updated software (with more than 3Gb of packages in
Contribs).

supports automatic partitioning and LVM. Grub is now the
default boot loader on i386. There is wireless networking
support, the 2.4.25 kernel, with SATA support and security
fixes, and support for the XFS filesystem. It has been fully
