SeaMonkey 1.0 Released
The SeaMonkey
Council is proud to announce SeaMonkey 1.0, the first end-user release of their
internet suite. This open source application, available as a
free download
from its mozilla.org-hosted website, features a state-of-the-art web browser
and powerful email client, as well as a WYSIWYG web page composer and a
feature-rich IRC chat client. For web developers, mozilla.org’s DOM inspector
and JavaScript debugger tools are included as well. SeaMonkey 1.0 is one of the
most complete, powerful, and secure internet software packages available today.
SeaMonkey comes with the the look and feel familiar to users of its
predecessors, the Mozilla Application Suite and Netscape Communicator packages,
but adds many
new
features as well as back-end changes that improve security, stability and
performance. Some highlights are: drag&drop reordering of tabs, phishing
e-mail detection, support for a single shared inbox when using multiple
accounts, and support for Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG).
The SeaMonkey project is a community-based project hosted at mozilla.org that
emerged around Mozilla’s suite codebase when the Mozilla Foundation announced
it would discontinue further development of its suite product. The new project
is dedicated to keeping this suite alive and developing it into an even more
modern and complete internet software package.
Welcome to Planet Psi!
After twelve years in development, I am pleased to announce Planet Psi!
Planet Psi (http://planet.psi-im.org) is a way for you to see inside the minds of the Psi developers. However, unlike vivisection, this is more of a blog. This blog is the place where you’ll find detailed developer-focused info on the creations, challenges, and other things our team thinks about, some of which do begin with the letter “C”. All Psi, all the time.
Like other “planet planet” planets, this page is an aggregation of specially-tagged blog posts from the members’ own blogs. Some of you may know that Kev, Remko, and myself have been blogging for a little bit. Well, part of the deal here is that we have brought Justin and Mblsha into the new age as well. You’ll see links to their new blogs on the Planet.
If you click on the title of any of the entries, you’ll be brought to the author’s website. Once there, you can comment if you wish. But don’t think that we don’t want you to comment here as well. When there is a topic that we feel applies to all of the Psi Community (that’s you), we’ll still be putting those things here in the Announcements forum.
Oh, almost forgot. The Planet has its own RSS feed, just like individual blogs do. If you don’t want to visit the Planet page itself, you can always plunk that bad boy into your news reader; we won’t be offended.
Hope you enjoy the new insight!
Stendhal 0.44
Stendhal is a multiplayer online adventure game (MMORPG) developed using the Arianne game development system. It features a rich and expanding world in which you can explore towns, buildings, plains, caves, and dungeons. You will meet NPCs and acquire tasks and quests for valuable experience and cold hard cash. Your character will develop and grow, and with each new level up become stronger and better. With the money you acquire, you can buy new items and improve your armour and weapons. You can also roam the world in search of evil monsters (and kill them).
Changes: Fixes a null pointer bug in creature logic. Fixed the drink and food queue so you can consume potions even if full. Speeds up client and changes sync event management so the game is less laggy. Now you can buy several items in a batch (e.g. buy 5 potions). Items bought are automatically stacked. Sheep heal themselves slowly. Admins are now denoted with yellow names. NPCs don’t say goodbye if you are not talking to them. Portals are walkable now. It looks better. Giant rat corpses are bigger. Monsters talk (but don’t chat). Ambient sounds have been added. ATK and DEF loss on death have been fixed.
